The Sawtooth Slayer, the latest page-turner from British author Nathan Dylan Goodwin, is about a serial killer on the loose in Idaho in 2020. Detectives turn to genetic genealogists to solve the mysterious murderer’s identity. This is the second novel in this series, although The Sawtooth Slayer is a stand-alone book. And while this is a work of fiction, the author sometimes uses the names of real persons—with their consent. Goodwin had concerns about accurately depicting the work of genetic genealogists, prompting him to turn to real-life experts to make the story as factual as possible. We think this is Goodwin’s best work yet.
