Farmer and stock dealer, post-office Pink Hill, section 13, was born in Montgomery, now Powell County, Kentucky, November 19, 1844, and was reared on a farm. He came to Jackson County, December, 1868, and located where he now resides. His farm contains 270 acres. Was married November 29, 1863, to Miss Sarah F. Steward, who is a native of the same county as her husband. They have been blessed with seven children, four of whom are living: James M., William R., Carrie Lee, and Hershel L. His father, James H. Hall, is a native of Kentucky, where he now resides. His mother, Emily (Thomas), is also a native of Kentucky, and both are of English descent.
