Y.; member of the New York State Assembly 1937-44; member of the New York State Senate 1945-48; married Rose Zahn, September 1, 1929; one son, Edmund; elected to the Eighty-first Congress on November 2, 1948; reelected to the Eighty-third, Eighty-fourth, and Eighty-fifth Congress.
