Mrs. Bernhard of 833 Coleman Drive, Anniston, Alabama, was born in Calhoun County, Neman, Alabama. She is the daughter of the DeWitt Clinton Cryers. She is the granddaughter of the Alonzo Cryers and the W. B. Smiths.
She became the bride of Mr. Bernhard in Anniston, Alabama, June 29, 1911. They have three children: two sons and one daughter. She also has eight brothers.
She is a member of the Methodist Church, Chautauqua, Spastic Club, Sewing club and the Scout council. She has been president of the Chautauqua club, and secretary and treasurer of various other organizations.
She attended school at Electric, Alabama, and Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama. She is a housewife and her husband is manager or was manager of the telephone company for 47 years. He is now retired.
She has visited in New York, Virginia, Florida, Texas, and the Great Lakes. Her hobbies are gardening and working with the Spastic School. Mr. and Mrs. Bernhard hold two of the five “Thank You” badges award by the Girl Scouts Council for service.
