Texas Obituaries & Death Records | Coleman County Burned to Death in a Whirlwind.—Mr. Thompson, a former resident of Pony creek, Erath county, returned to Stephenville last week, from Coleman county, where he has been ever since last fall. During his residence there he has only been able to work a whirlwind came along and whipped up a fire in his yard, where his wife was engaged in her domestic duties, and enveloped his tent in a fleree, whirling flame. The destruction was so rapid that his little child was burned to death, and everything destroyed. The good people of Coleman City raised a purse of $35 for the afflicted family.
