SUNDAY CREEK.
Sunday Creek overflowed from one end to the other, and the same distressing news comes from there that has been related of other streams, crops damaged, and some stock one person reported drowned. This creek flows north and empties into Palo Pinto, only about nine miles of it being in this county, and not very thickly settled. We learn that Mr. John Brown and his wife were compelled to leave their house with their three children, the wife having the youngest and the husband the two oldest. In attempting to make their way out, through water waist deep, a strong current rushed against Mrs. Brown and came near washing her down, and Mr. Brown made an effort to assist her. In the struggle to save his wife, Mr. Brown dropped his oldest child, which was carried away by the rushing waters and drowned. The remainder of the family made safe to shore, but the unfortunate parents are almost wild over the death of their child. The little fellow was found the next day only a short distance below where the said affair happened, his body having been washed ashore.
